A hay truck caught fire Tuesday, causing police to shut down a main highway for the afternoon.
Lunenburg District RCMP got a call about what was thought to be a single vehicle collision at 12:55 p.m..
It turns out there was no collision, however, RCMP spokesperson, Cpl. Chris Marshall says, the truck carrying a load of hay was ablaze on Highway 10 near West Northfield
The road was closed for approximately 4.5 hours, Marshall says.
Traffic was rerouted while emergency crews were on scene.
No one was injured in the blaze; the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
