It will be a tax increase for residents in Lunenburg.
Council approved its budget Tuesday night.
The residential tax rate is getting bumped up an extra 2.3 per cent to $1.31 per 100 of assessment.
Mayor Rachel Bailey says a small increase is necessary to offer the services they provide.
“The garbage collection, the sewage treatment, the road clearing, the sidewalks, road maintenance, all of those kind of things I do think we do very well for the population that we have.”
Council also chose to hold the commercial rate at $3.27 per 100 of assessment.
Lunenburg will have an operating budget of roughly $13.5-million and a capital budget of more than $4.5-million.
