Artist Julie Anne Babin says she’s loves colouring and Nova Scotia.
She combined the two interests and created a new book called Colour Nova Scotia.
Babin, who lives in Liverpool, put together 70 pages of drawings based on scenes from all over the province including the South Shore.
She says her parents are to thank for showing her Nova Scotia.
“Every weekend we would get in the car and we would drive down every road we could. I’ve literally been down, I think, every road in Nova Scotia and so we’ve been to all these places as a family.”
Some Nova Scotia celebrities are also doing their part and colouring a few of the illustrations to support the IWK Health Centre.
They include the Trailer Park Boys, Ellie Black and Ellen Page.
“They’re going to colour a page or two, or as many as they want really and sign them and then send them back. They will be auctioned off online to raise money.”
Babin says she’s excited to see the book released after about a year of working on it.
The book is available across the province at Coles and Chapters and in Queens County at the Port Grocer and Lanes Privateer Inn.
