The provincial NDP is holding a ‘telephone town hall’ tomorrow night on concerns with the education system.
NDP Leader Gary Burrill and Claudia Chender, the party’s education critic, will have a moderated conversation and the public is welcome to call in to talk and listen..
“We’re trying to calibrate what are the most important things for us to be bringing forward and be giving the greatest emphasis to and of course people will often speak to dimensions of their own experience,” says Burrill.
Burrill expects that teachers and parents will call and share their own experiences and thoughts on the situation.
“Out of those conversations, that’s how we devise the approach we’re going to take to opposing this whole implementation of the Glaze report in the legilsature.”
The date of the town hall coincides with the Nova Scotia Teachers Union’s strike vote in response to the province following recomendations from the Glaze Report.
The number to call is 1-877-229-8493 with the code – 116048#
