Don’t forget flowers on your next grocery run.
The Canadian Cancer Society has partnered with Atlantic Superstores in Nova Scotia to sell flowers as part of their annual Daffodil Month fundraising campaign.
The partnership began three years ago in Ontario and this is the first time they’ve expanded to the Maritimes.
Kelly Cull with the Canadian Cancer Society explains the daffodil’s significance.
“The daffodil is the Canadian Cancer Society’s symbol. It is a symbol of hope and courage for people who are currently fighting cancer or in honour and memory of people who have been lost to the disease.”
Cull says they’re glad to be working with the Superstores.
“This is a brand new partnership for us and one that we are really excited about because it really extends the reach of our campaign throughout the month.”
Two dollars from every bunch of fresh cut or potted daffodils will go to the society.
Superstore throughout the province will be selling the flowers until May 4.
