The Liberal wave continues to make a splash in the Lunenburg riding.
Suzanne Lohnes-Croft held her seat with 3,110 votes, a margin of 685 votes over PC Brian Pickings.
Lohnes-Croft was first elected to the legislature in 2013.
She says she’s worked hard to keep her seat.
“I’ve been out at events, I’ve listened to people, I’ve tried to be present and open for my constituents.”
The Liberals haven’t won back-to-back provincial elections in the Lunenburg riding since 1953.
Meanwhile, Pickings isn’t happy about the results in his riding and he lays the blame squarely on voters.
“People wonder why we have bad governments and we’re so far off the rails. Well, it’s because we keep electing bad people in them.”
Pickings says he’s already given five years to provincial politics and has put his name forward twice.
He says he has no intention of running again.
NDP Marc Breaugh was third with 2,348 votes.
Voter turnout in Lunenburg was 56.22%.
