The Progressive Conservatives are accusing the NDP of playing politics when it comes to highway twinning.
The PC’s claim Gary Burrill stated in Halifax that he opposed tolling but is telling voters on the South Shore that he supports the option.
Burrill says the PC party has it wrong.
“It’s entirely a fabricated accusation. The main point we have made about this highway matter from the beginning is that the infrastructure of the highways of Nova Scotia needs to be in the ownership of the people of Nova Scotia.”
Queens-Shelburne PC candidate Kim Masland says Burrill is talking out of both sides of his mouth.
Burrill says the NDP has been clear from the beginning and is against tolls.
Public consultations on highway twinning have ended.
The province will release a report by the end of the month to highlight all the data and feedback collected through the in-person consultations or online submissions.
