The mayor of Bridgewater says a transit service is exceeding expectations so far.
A bus has been providing free transport around the town since September 25.
More than 1,250 people have taken a ride on the bus during the first two weeks.
David Mitchell says he’s pleased.
“So far, I think our indications are that even when numbers decrease a little bit as we expect when the service does begin to cost a toonie, we’re still above where we wanted to be.”
Mitchell says people of almost all demographics are using the bus including seniors and youth going to the LCLC or the mall.
The pilot project will be in place for another five and a half months.
