NDP Leader Gary Burrill will be joining his colleagues in the legislature once it’s recalled.
He says last night was a victory for the party who gained two seats in the house.
But he says the air of celebration is somewhat subdued.
“Tempered for us by our awareness of some of the excellent candidates we’ve had that haven’t been successful.”
Some of those losses came with very tight margins and Burrill says they’re not quite done fighting yet.
“Look, we’ve just seen in British Columbia that there are dramatic changes that can take place when recounts are called for and, no doubt, there will be a recount or two.”
Burrill says once all the dust has settled they’ll be ready to get down to business.
He says the first thing on the docket is to debate the budget that was tabled before the election was called.
