Cellular Service Still A Problem In Wood's Harbour

Over 300 people in the Wood's Harbour area have signed a petition calling on the provincial government to work with service providers to improve cell service.

The document was tabled last Thursday in the House of Assembly by Argyle-Barrington PC MLA Chris d'Entremont.

He says homeowners and businesses are upset at the long-standing issue.

"Especially for those people trying to do business where they can't even use their iPhone, they can't talk to their overseas clients. So they're getting more and more upset with all the major carriers."

d'Entremont said he had a brief discussion with Geoff MacLellan the Minister of Business.

He said MacLellan told him there were a number of similar issues across the province that government is trying to deal with and he would put Wood's Harbour "on the list."

He says while it's good to know it's on the government's radar, he doesn't think people in Wood's Harbour will be satisfied being put on a list.
