A new hand will be at the helm of the Chester Playhouse.
Lisa Gleave will take on the role of General Manager at the Playhouse beginning April 3.
Gleave is leaving the same job at Mermaid Theatre to come to Chester.
She replaces outgoing GM Erick Bickerdike who has been in the position for the last 13 years.
Gleave wants the theatre to appeal to many generations.
“I’m come from a family audience theatre background here at Mermaid. We tour our shows all over the world and I’m very proud of the work that we do. So I’d like to bring a bit more of that flavour to the community.”
She has a number of ideas in her back pocket that she can’t wait to get started on.
“I’m a very energetic, passionate person. I tend to bring those traits to everything that I do, so that’s what you’re going to see. Renewed passion, renewed energy and I’m going to try to get my face everywhere and meet everybody.”
She looks forward to working with Bickerdike during the transition.
And says she’s excited to be joining such a dynamic organization.
