The MLA for Queens-Shelburne is furious with government’s highway plan.
Kim Masland says the 2018-19 budget of $285 million in infrastructure spending announced yesterday does next to nothing for residents in her riding.
Masland says government is playing favourites.
“This five-year highway plan rots of partisan politics in my opinion, and it’s time to take politics out of pavement.”
Masland says earlier this year she presented a long list of issues to the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.
“I am grateful for the projects that we have been given. But this is not a reflection of the ask, and most importantly, it is not addressing the need of constituents in this constituency.”
She says of the 200 projects announced for next year, only four will impact her constituency of Queens-Shelburne.
Masland is concerned the safety of drivers in her region is being overlooked.
