Firefighters in Shelburne and Yarmouth counties extinguished a garage fire today in Barrington.
It happened in Oak Park at a residence past Barrington High School around 1pm.
Paul Thomas, acting Chief of the Barrington/Port Latour Volunteer Fire Department says a man was working in the garage when something caught fire.
The man tried to extinguish it himself, but the fire quickly spread.
When firefighters arrived the 20 by 40 wooden structure was fully engulfed in flames.
There were no injuries, and Thomas says the fire was out in about 30 minutes.
The Woods Harbour, Island/Barrington, Port Clyde and West Pubnico fire departments also responded.
Thomas says they wanted to make sure they had lots of man-power as many volunteer firefighters are out lobster fishing.
