A fixture on King Street in Bridgewater is moving on.
For close to 30 years Paulette Fancy has worked at Rofihes Men’s Wear.
On September 30 she will be retiring.
Fancy explains why she stayed at the shop so long.
“It’s just a great place to work. Customers are fantastic and Barry and Jim, well, they were a gem to work for.”
She says it’s the conversations she has with people coming in off the streeet that she will miss.
“I’m going to miss the public, dealing with the public on a daily basis. It’s going to be different, ’cause all I’ve ever known since I’ve worked is the retail business.”
Fancy spent almost fifty years working on King Street.
She started at a jewellery store, then at the Sally Store until finally landing at Rofihes Men’s Wear.
Fancy suspects after working so long, she will have a hard time learning to sleep in.
She says she’s not a big traveller, and is looking forward to spending time with her friends at home.
