Some YMCAs across southwest Nova Scotia have received money to help prepare young adults for the workforce.
The Canada Post Community Foundation has provided $9,000 towards the cause.
It will benefit individuals between 15-21 years-old at YMCAs in Yarmouth, Fundy and Lunenburg County.
Youth Coordinator Kim Whitman-Mansfield says the five-day program could be ready to go by March Break.
She says it showcase different tools.
“Where to look for jobs, how to identify the jobs that actually fit your skill set, how to present yourself in an application or cover letter or resume and create those documents. After that, how should you present yourself for a job interview.”
Whitman-Mansfield says the program should help remove barriers for youth to find employment and enhance their skills and self-confidence.
