A tumultuous chapter in Lunenburg Town Council has come to a close.
Councillor Brian Davis has resigned his position citing health concerns.
At Davis’ request, Mayor Rachel Bailey read the letter of resignation to start the council meeting Tuesday night.

Davis is best known for taking issue with council’s use of in-camera meetings.
“You know there were some things that were a bit disruptive, but my nature is when I see something that you really should be abiding by, then you stick to it. But your health has to be your priority so that’s where I am.”
That led to several discussions and a public information session on the issue.
At times, Davis was the council’s most vocal critic.
“It was an interesting eight months that I was on there and I did the best that I could do to represent the people of the town.”
Davis says he is proud of the work he has done on council and regrets he couldn’t continue to be a voice for the people of Lunenburg.
A timetable for when a by-election to fill Davis’ seat on council will be held has yet to be announced.
