The Town of Bridgewater turns 120 years old next week.
To celebrate, the town has a number of activities and public events planned, beginning Saturday.
They include an automated art show at the DesBrisay Museum, a free skate and a breakfast with the mayor.
David Mitchell says Bridgewater is thriving.
"We are the fastest growing town of our size in the province and we've outpaced that growth since the census in 2016. One hundred and twenty years and going strong is a testament to the people of Bridgewater and the resolve of our community."
Bridgewater was officially incorporated as a town on February 13, 1899.
Bridgewater Transit will be available to ride for free next Wednesday and town councillors will be handing out treats around the community.
"When it's free, we do see a large uptake in ridership," says Mitchell. "It's great to see people out and using the bus and obviously, there is a huge need for it."
A schedule is available here.
