If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. The expression holds true in the Region of Queens as Darlene Norman was re-elected as deputy mayor. Norman has served on council for 14 years – twice as deputy mayor from 2008 to 2010 and 2012 to now. She says it feels good to have confidence from fellow council members. She says, “It was a great honour to go in uncontested and that my peers recognize my strengths and my ability to work with Mayor Clarke is a very good thing and I look forward to my final two years of my tenure here.” Council voted on the position during their Tuesday meeting. She will hold the position until 2016.
