Police say a 57 year-old man was waiting to cross Highway 329 around 9 a.m.
A small car stopped and a man driving a pick-up truck didn’t realize and rear-ended the car.
The car then struck the man.
The man, who is from Mill Cove, has been transported to the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.
The driver of the car was also injured and was transported to hospital for moderate injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Highway 329 near the Lighthouse Road was closed for roughly six hours while an RCMP collision analyst examined the scene.
