It’s time people understood the signs of dementia.
January is Alzheimers Awareness month and Linda Bird with the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia says there are many signs of dementia.
“Besides memory loss, it could be loss of initiative, mood swings, personality changes, problems with doing day to day tasks that they were always able to do and now they’re having trouble.”
Bird says, as part of the awareness campaign, the hashtag #iNoticedWhen has been set up.
“To get people talking about, when did they notice signs in either themselves or someone they’re close to? To have that conversation.”
Share your story of when you first noticed someone w #dementia using #iNoticedWhen – lets not silence this disease any longer
