Bridgewater is getting a little help from their friends in Ottawa.
The Federal government and Federation of Canadian Municipalities are giving the town $66,600 through the Green Municipal Fund.
The money will help Bridgewater complete its community energy investment plan this fall.
Mayor David Mitchell says the funding helps residents and businesses by supporting energy programs including PACE.
“People can finance energy efficient heat pumps and other things like that through the town to reduce energy consumption.”
Mitchell points out they have other energy initiatives in the works like a new biomass facility at the NSCC and solar power projects with various partners.
An energy fair is also scheduled in October that will showcase new energy opportunities and savings in Bridgewater.
The town was one of 48 communities in Canada to get money from the Green Municipal Fund.
