JOB TITLES – Construction Tradesmen, Heavy Machinery Operators, Supply Technicians, Human Resources and Financial Administrators


OPPORTUNITY – You have a chance to be a valuable member of 143 Construction Engineering Flight, in Bridgewater, and as a Reservist you do not have to move from your hometown on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. You would be a member of a team of highly-skilled and dedicated men and women responsible for supporting vital camp infrastructure on deployed operations, providing emergency disaster relief and assistance to construction and maintenance on Canadian Armed Forces bases and wings, plus Community Projects which provide our members with on-the-job training. 143 CEF completes several community projects for non-profit groups in the surrounding area every year. We are always looking for Canadians who are interested in meaningful employment, protecting and assisting their country and community. No experience necessary. We provide all paid training required.


OVERVIEW -- We are looking for new recruits in a variety of trades. Our Reserve members are from local communities around the South Shore of Nova Scotia. As a Flight we train and employ members in six trades including Carpentry, Water, Fuel and Environmental, Electrical, HVAC, Electrical Generator and Plumbing. We also employ four support trades including Supply, Heavy Machinery Operator, Human Resources and Financial Advisors. 143 CEF has a unique partnership with Lunenburg County, as part of training and skills development of Reservists, we complete community projects for non-profit organizations.

PAY AND BENEFITS – Your pay as a Reservist is based on your job, rank and whether you work full- or part-time. Base rates are competitive with regular increases based on time served. The Royal Canadian Air Force Reserve offers a very good benefits package, which includes:

QUALIFICATIONS – A successful candidate must:


  • be a Canadian Citizen
  • have completed at least Grade 10 or Secondaire IV (in Québec)
  • have parental consent if under age 18
  • meet Canadian Armed Forces medical standards
  • successfully complete selection process, interview and examinations
  • pass physical fitness tests
