The province has set aside an entire day to the celebration of all things lobster and organizers of the Nova Scotia Lobster Crawl couldn’t be happier.
February 28 has been officially declared Nova Scotia Lobster Day to shine a light on the rich history the crustacean shares with the province.
Menna Riley, Nova Scotia Lobster Crawl Festival Director said in celebration, they are holding a culinary reception.
“It celebrates the lobster fishing industry, heritage and culture in our entire province and we are so proud it falls on the tail-end of our festival,” she said, “So we are celebrating with a tail-end reception.”
The Lobster Crawl was created to promote the South Shore as a year round tourism attraction and is held from February 1st to 29th.
The festival is held during the peak of the November to May lobster season which makes it the perfect little hook to lure in visitors, said Riley.
The Lobster Day reception is being held at the Lunenburg Academy on Friday February 28th from 6:30 to 8:30pm, and tickets can be purchased here.
