A media release from the NSHA says that top health officials will be available this afternoon to provide the latest info on COVID-19.
The event will take place at the IWK. In attendance will be Premier Stephen McNeil, Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Brendan Carr, president and CEO, Nova Scotia Health Authority and Dr. Krista Jangaard, president and CEO, IWK Health Centre.
When we last heard from Dr.Stranf he confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in the province. There are also four presumptive cases that are caused when hospitals get an on-site positive at which point it requires confirmation from the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg. Once in Winnipeg, it is estimated it takes 24-48 hours to receive results.
