Flags were at half mast yesterday in Lunenburg to pay respects to Barbara Zwicker.
Zwicker, who was a former member of town council and sat as a member of numerous Lunenburg clubs and associations, passed Monday at the age of 87.
Zwicker and her late husband, Sherman, spent a majority of their live’s in Lunenburg, with Zwicker giving a lot of her time to the community.
Aside from her council duties, She was a founding member of the Lunenburg Craft Festival, a member of the Lunenburg Art Gallery and the Heritage Society, as well as a member of the Lunenburg Golf Course and Lunenburg Yacht Club.
Zwicker spent her final years as a resident at Harbour View Haven in Lunenburg as she battled vascular dementia.
A memorial service to honour her life will be held at a later date.
