RCMP closed a stretch of Highway 3 Thursday after a car struck a power pole before landing in the water in Maders Cove.
Lunenburg District RCMP received the accident call at 1:22 p.m.
Corporal Dan Smith with the Lunenburg detachment confirmed that a female passenger and her two children were able to safely exit the car.
After being assessed for injuries on the scene they were sent hospital via ambulance.
RCMP estimate Highway 3 will remain closed in the area of the crash until approximately 3:30 p.m.
The car has since been removed from the water by tow crews and Nova Scotia Power has been contacted to repair the damaged pole.
No further details on the cause of the crash have been released at this time.
