Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) South Shore are organizing a clothing drive for the first time since the pandemic made doing them impossible.
Health restrictions have led to collection bins and dumps being closed to the public. So while many people have gotten some major spring cleaning done during the COVID-19 pandemic many have been left without options to dispose of there unwanted items.
Normally BBBS South Shore would have done clothing drives in the winter and spring but both had to be canceled because of the pandemic.
Alix Thorguard Mentor Coordinator for the South Shore chapter of BBBS says the company that handles the collection has agreed to resume collection but there will be some changes, “The major difference is anyone requesting a pickup has to put their items at the end of their driveways to ensure contactless pickup.”
Alternatively, you can drop your items off at Acess Storage (Unit #53) on Logan Street in Bridgewater.
On June 16 they will be doing home collections in Bridgewater, June 17 in Lunenburg and Blue Rocks, and on June 18 in Liverpool. To book a pickup call 1-888-454-4025.
Once collections are done the items will be weighed which will determine how much money they receive.
For anyone looking for more information on BBBS South Shore, they are hosting their Annual General Meeting online on June 25 at 4:00 p.m.
