With the announcement that the Oreagan’s Subaru Outdoor Pool would not be opening this year the Town of Bridgewater offered it’s first alternative soloution to the heat last week.
On Friday, they set up and announced that their oversized sprinklers were being set up in Woodlawn Gardens, as well the town provided free freezies to anyone who wanted them.
Recreation Coordinator Dianna Johnson says they made the announcement very late on Friday but that was to ensure they werent overrun by people as they still have to abide provincial health protocols.
She says the Friday event was a success and it has enabled them to announce when the sprinkler will be offered earlier in the day.
The sprinklers were set up again today to deal with the high temperatures and Johnson says that they will try to offer the service on days it’s needed most, “We can’t predict the weather but we’ll use the forecast to guide our decisions.”
She says the town is also looking into alternate sites for the sprinklers but any site would require a clean water supply.
