After the Canadian Border Services Agency boarded a small vessel near a Halifax and seized a large amount of suspected cocaine more details are beginning to surface.
The CBSA says they began their investigation into the boat when it entered Canadian waters unreported on July 17.
Reports now indicate that the boat has stopped in Lockeport for gas.
While there they spoke with someone at the gas station and they allegedly lied about their port of origin, claiming to be coming from Quebec.
According to the CBSA, the actual point of origin is somewhere in the Carribean.
On July 18 the boat was boarded by the CBSA, subsequently, they found 270 kilograms of suspected cocaine in various parts of the ship.
The couple on board were then placed under arrest and turned over to the RCMP.
