The MHL announced their preseason schedule this morning but as of now it only includes three games, all of which are set to take place in New Brunswick.
The 2020-21 exhibition season begins Sunday, September 20 in Campbellton as the Tigers host the Grand Falls Rapids at 3 p.m. The same two teams will meet again in the preseason on September 25.
The last scheduled game of the preseason is a home game for Fredricton who will play Amherst on September 27.
The league says planning is underway to add more games and you can find those as they are updated on their website.
They have also released a list of rules for the first game that will be implemented at other games around the Maritimes.
- A mask must be worn at all times in buildings until you’re sitting in your seat. The mask can be removed as long as two-metre physical distancing is maintained.
- A mask is required when getting up from a seat to use the washroom.
- Hand sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the buildings and their use is encouraged.
- Tickets must be purchased in advance at the ticket office. Tickets will not be sold online. The ticket office will close an hour and a half prior to game start.
- To follow COVID-19 contact tracing guidelines, names and contact information for everyone tickets are being purchased for must be provided.
- The main doors at the front of the building will be the only entrance. Maintain physical distancing, enter, and go directly to your seat. No one will be allowed to stand or gather to chat on the walking track or any other areas.
The release sent out by the league specified that no games have been scheduled in Nova Scotia as of now and they did not provide any more information as to why that is the case.
