The South Shore Lumberjacks will be looking to turn things around Thursday night against the Yarmouth Mariners after starting their season 0-10-0.
The problems appear to be at both ends of the ice with the team giving up 41 goals so far, the second-worst amongst the MHL. Offensively it’s just as bad with the team only netting 18 goals which is also the second-worst amongst the league.
That has the Jacks on a goal differential of -24 far outpacing the second-worst team in that category (Campbellton Tigers, -11).
On a positive note, Jack’s forward Braden Paquette was named to the MHL South Division Team of the Week after netting a goal and two assists over two games.
Also on that list was former Jack, Bair Gendunov who was recently traded away to the Truro Bearcats.
The high scoring forward was traded for Cole Julien (F), Brandon Blake (F), and a 2021 third-round pick.
The Jacks get the benefit of playing at home this week against the Mariners with puck-drop scheduled at the LCLC for 7:00 p.m.
