A local video game retailer is closing its doors for good.
EB Games in Cookville is going out of business this week.
An employee at the store said it is one of multiple location closures across Canada, and will lock up on Saturday, Jan. 16th. They believe this location is the only one closing in Nova Scotia.
EB Games, once known as Electronic Boutique, sells new and used video games, as well as video game and pop culture merchandise and collectables.
GameStop, EB Games parent company, announced they would be closing 400-450 stores globally last year, with more closures planned for 2021.
The company has seen a decrease in physical games sales over the last few years, with a further loss during the shutdowns caused by COVID-19.
A call was made to EB Games Canada’s headquarters for comment on the locations shutdown, however a response has not been received.
