Moviegoers rejoice, Cineplex Theatres around Nova Scotia, including the Bridgewater location reopen tonight.
The province lifted restrictions surround movie theatres recently and General Manager of the Bridgewater Cineplex Chris Bezanson says his team is excited.
He said, “After being shutdown since December my crew and I are excited to welcome guests back to enjoy the movie-going experience they love.”
Anyone returning to the theatres will need to follow some new rules in order to enjoy movies safely.
Masks are required while entering the building and while watching movies. Cineplex is encouraging people to refrain from using cash instead of using contactless methods.
You will also have to select assigned seating that has been set up in accordance with physical distancing rules.
During the time the theatre has been shutdown Bezanson says the theatre has tried to stay busy hosting a COVID-19 testing clinic twice and a Lyme disease conference over the summer.
Despite being shut down and many employees not working for months Bezanson says his team was eager to get back to work, “I’m proud to say all of my cast are returning to work and I know they will be eager to ensure the experience is as enjoyable and safe as possible.
He says all of his staff have been trained and understand the importance of maintaining high cleaning standards in order to ensure they can continue to operate.
The first showtimes get underway at 6:30 p.m. and schedules have been set up to avoid large crowds forming in the lobby.
Going forward the theatre only plans to be open four days of the week, showing movies on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only.
