After being closed for most of last year and adding many exciting new features in the off-season campground bookings at Kejimkujik National Park are likely to be a hot commodity once they become available.
Kejimkujik will open its online booking portal on Friday, April 22 at 8 a.m. and you should be prepared if you want to get a particular campsite.
Keji Experience Coordinator, Sophie Borcoman has a few tips for those looking to book. She says before the portal opens on Friday you should create a Parks Canada account on their website.
“On booking day you’ll want to be on the website at around 7:45 a.m. so when it opens you will be put into the queue right away,” Borcoman said.
She says by doing that you will maximize the chance of getting your first or second choice for sites and dates.
Phone booking is also available and can be done by calling 1-888-737-3783.
The new Oasis teardrop style glamping structures are likely to be on the top of a lot of peoples lists according to Borcoman, “They sit right on the lake and have a great view, you kind of feel like a bird up in the loft and overall it’s just a great cozy place to stay for those people who might be new to camping.”
Another new addition the park is particularly proud of is the new gender-neutral bathrooms which are available throughout the park. Kejimkujik is the first national park to utilize gender-neutral bathrooms across its entire park.
As part of the bathroom upgrades a new water treatment plan was also installed in the off-season which Borcoman says was a much-needed upgrade.
