Our Athlete of the Week is 12-year-old Jake Hobson from Queens county.
Jake plays for the Queens bears basketball team
Jake has worked hard to engage with basketball and play in a team, a goal he set from immigrating from Northern Ireland to Canada. He is the only one that is not part of the other team members school so he has had to work hard to make a connection and be a team member/player. There’s no team in his wee community.
He has travelled, an hour, weekly there and back to play a game that he loves. His commitment, skills and dedication to play shows when he plays and practices.
As Athlete of the Week, Jake won $50 to Cleve’s Source for Sports in Bridgewater
