Our Athlete of the Week is 13-year-old Wesley Roy of Queens County.
Wesley plays with Queens County Minor Hockey and when the weather warms up, he is swinging clubs at White Point Golf Club
Wesley was nominated for Athlete of the Week because he puts his all into everything he does. During the winter hockey season he is a goalie for QCMHA, he played last season with U13 AAA Western Cougars. He has received the most dedicated award almost every year he has played which is a testament to the work he put into being an athlete.
As soon as spring comes you’ll find him playing golf in the backyard and as soon as the course opens, at White Point where he plays at least twice week. He enjoys schools sport such as soccer and track & field.
He is always on the go either biking, scootering, running or doing a work out.
Wesley earns money through yard work in his community to purchase some of his sporting gear.
As Athlete of the Week, Wesley won $50 to Cleve’s Source for Sports in Bridgewater.
