The Nova Scotia Health Authority has announced some ER closures on the South Shore that will impact service this weekend and next week.
In Shelburne, the ER at Roseway Hospital will be closed for most of the weekend. It is scheduled to close Saturday, August 14 at 7 a.m. then it will reopen Monday, August 16 at 8 a.m.
In Lunenburg, the ER at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital will be closing early for most of next week. The NSHA says from Tuesday, August 16 to Friday, August 20 the ER will be closing at 1 p.m.
Fishermen’s ER will return to normal hours on Saturday, August 21 which are 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Both hospitals are making the changes in response to a lack of physician coverage.
Anyone in those areas requiring immediate medical attention is asked to call 911 and for non-emergency medical situations, you can call 811 to speak with a registered nurse.
