Throughout the pandemic, White Point Beach Resort has often opted to impose COVID-19 restrictions that go above and beyond what the province requires and they plan to do so again once Phase Five launches.
The resort’s owners, Robert, and Alicia Risley issued a statement on Facebook saying that once the province enters the new phase they will require all guests over the age of 12 to provide proof of vaccination.
Phase Five is not set to include any such rules for hotels, however, restaurants and bars will be required to check vaccine documents.
In the Facebook post, they explained that at White Point there are limited dining options in close proximity to the hotel so most guests end up eating at the on-site restaurants. Under the province’s rules, any guests that went to the restaurants at White Point would be required to show proof of vaccination, however, the resort is opting to have all guests prove their vaccine status upon check-in, in order to make things easier and safer.
Despite the new policy for guests, staff at White Point will not be required to be vaccinated.
