Lunenburg was once again featured in a major Netflix show with this weekend’s release of season two of Locke & Key.
The latest season of the Netflix fantasy show utilized Lunenburg for a large portion of the show’s exterior shots as they did in season one.
The story follows the tale of three siblings as they look to unravel the secrets of their ancestral family home in Masschetuses. The show features heavy fantasy elements with the house having mysterious keys that grant the bearer unusual powers.
Locke & Key is definitely geared towards younger audiences but there is something to appreciate for viewers of all ages, specifically if you enjoy seeing places you’re familiar with on the screen.
In the first episode, viewers are met with a shot of the beautiful Lunenburg waterfront. In virtually every episode of season two, there is at least one area from Lunenburg featured.
Production on season three is already underway, shooting is currently taking place in Toronto where most of the interior shots are done. There has been no confirmation from Netflix so far that they will be returning to Nova Scotia for season three.
