The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) has confirmed that parents of students at Newcombville Elementary were informed on Monday about a possible COVID-19 exposure at the school.
Close contacts of the case were notified by Public Health. Those not contacted by public health were informed about the potential exposure by the SSRCE, as is standard protocol.
The SSRCE says they are unable to provide specific information on the case due to privacy rules.
SSRCE Communications Officer Ashley Gallant says the school will remain open unless they hear differently from Public Health, “If needed, Public Health will recommend additional enhanced measures, this is currently not that case and if that changes, we will notify families,” Gallant said.
