The Nova Scotia government announced they are doing some due diligence on the Need a Family Practice Registry which hit a record high of 81,000 earlier this year.
The Nova Scotia Health Authority will begin contacting people on the list on Friday, November 26 to confirm that they are still in need of a family doctor. They intend to reach out via phone, email, and mail to best ensure that everyone on the list has a chance to respond.
The calls will come from the number 000-000-000, so the Health Authority asks that you pick up should you receive a call.
Emails and letters will also be sent out this week and they include what steps need to be taken to ensure your place on the list is confirmed.
In the event, you are on the list but do not receive a call or correspondence it’s asked that you call 811 to confirm your status on the list.
Nova Scotians who do not have a primary care provider (doctor or nurse practitioner) should add their names to the registry online at needafamilypractice.nshealth.ca or by calling 811, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
