As forecasted the South Shore received around 20 centimeters of snow overnight and some areas continue to experience light flurries this morning.
The snow is expected to taper off throughout the morning, most likely ending before the afternoon.
Schools across the province have been closed as a result including all schools in the South Shore and Tri-County Regional Centres for Education.
Snowplows worked through the night however most roads still have some snow on them. Highway 103 still has some snow on it, as do regional highways and most roads in the towns around the South Shore.
More remote areas are likely to have only seen one or two passes from snowplows at this point so if you must drive in those areas do so cautiously.
