The restaurant is owned and operated by Wayne Higgins and his wife Lisa, who believe that the sculptures were taken in separate incidents. Wayne Higgins says they first noticed a missing sculpture about a month ago, then after returning for the holidays they discovered more were missing.
“It’s really frustrating because people get a real kick out of the artwork, I couldn’t count the number of times someone makes a comment about it or takes a picture in front of the sculptures,”. Higgins said.
Higgins says he does not want to involve the police in the situation so he made a post on Facebook appealing to the public for help.
The five missing sculptures can be seen in Higgins’s post were made by Windsor-based folk artist Jim Tracey.
With no visible signs of a break-in, Higgins believes the items were likely taken whilst they were open.
Higgins says if the missing sculptures were returned to the business he would hold no hard feelings and would consider the issue resolved.
Anyone with information on the missing items is asked to contact The Nosy Crow.
