Roundabouts stress me out. I grew up beside one (the old Mic Mac Rotary in Darmouth, now a parclo) then I moved to Halifax and had to deal with the Armdale rotary.
When I learned to drive the rule was one on one but that changed to whoever’s in the circle has the right of way. These days I have no idea what the rule is because I avoid roundabouts at all cost.
The traffic experts claim that roundabouts are the way to go – They keep traffic running smoothly and accidents are less severe than when people drive through intersections with traffic lights.
Do you like roundabouts or are you happy to wait at a traffic light?
