
The RCMP in Bonnyville, AB recently arrested a 44-year old man for sexual assault and they say it’s possible he has victims in Nova Scotia.
On Jan. 13, 2022, Bonnyville RCMP executed a search warrant at the residence of Christopher Brian Godfrey. For the past 10 months, Bonnyville RCMP have been investigating allegations that he used various aliases online to gain access to a number of victims and commit sexual offences.
Godfrey now faces charges for sexual assault, fraud over $5,000, and extortion.
The RCMP say he was primarily located around the Tri-Counties area from approximately 2008- late 2010s.
Some of the aliases Godfrey has been known to use include “Lucas Kennedy” and “Lucas Jacknife”.
The RCMP in Nova Scotia are now reaching out to the public encouraging any victims of Godfrey to come forward. If you have any information you can contact the NS RCMP at 1-800-803-7267.
Police want victims to know that they can contact them and discuss an incident before making a decision to further participate in the investigation and court process.
Following a judicial hearing, Godfrey was released on bail and a number of conditions that include: not to possess any weapons, not to have a computer in his home, to only use the telephone function on his phone except for work purposes. Godfrey is scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Feb. 22, 2022.
