The Town of Lunenburg is exploring the prospect of selling some of its real estate portfolio on Upper King Street.
As part of this year’s budget, the town announced its intentions to develop a strategy to offload town assets. Although that plan has yet to be completed, it appears some of the offloading has begun.
The properties being explored for sale include four neighboring lots on Upper King Street, at the end of the street where it intersects with Creighton Street, and another lot a few hundred metres east on Creighton Street.
The town says they have opened the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, and are allowing housing developers to submit plans.
Once all the proposals are in the town will then hold a public feedback session to see how the community feels about the potential developments.
