Nova Scotia released more details about the plans to develop affordable housing in various counties around the province today, and a healthy portion of the sites selected are on the South Shore.
Of the 37 sites announced today, six are in Lunenburg County and one is in Queens County.
The majority of the Lunenburg County sites are in the county’s largest town of Bridgewater.
The sites in Bridgewater include sites on, Aberdeen Road, North Street, King Street and Highway 325.
In the nearby community of Hebbville, a site was selected on Jubilee Road.
The last site in Lunenburg County was selected in Pine Grove on Pine Grove Road.
In Queens County, although listed as one site there are actually three plots of land scattered across the town.
None of the projects on the South Shore were identified as ones that are ready to start, as the land in question requires development before housing construction can begin.
