It’s official, ownership of the Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners has changed hands.
Earlier this week, it was announced Mariners Head Coach and GM Laurie Barron, assistant coaches John Murphy and Jared Purdy, and local lawyer Alex Pink were taking over ownership of the team pending league approval.
Today the MHL’s Board of Governors approved the change in ownership. The new owners will take over from Mitch Bonnar, who was an owner since 2010 and took sole ownership in 2019.
“The MHL Executive would like to thank Mitch Bonnar for his contributions to the league and Board of Governors,” says MHL President Troy Dumville. “We look forward to working with the new group in Yarmouth to continue to build on its strong hockey tradition.”
The MHL’s annual general meeting is also being held today.
