RCMP in Annapolis County have laid Child Pornography charges in relation to an incident that took place over the weekend in Springfield.
RCMP officers learned that a child was out on their dirt bike when they were approached by a man and inappropriately filmed. The child was able to flee and reported the incident to a parent.
Public Information Officer Cpl. Chris Marshall says during the interaction between the child and the man something inappropriate took place that warranted the police to take action, “It wasn’t simply the act of filming someone dirt biking that we were concerned about, we were alerted to more serious allegations which the charges reflect.”
Following the tip about the altercation, the man was located by RCMP officers at a home on Hastings Rd. in Springfield. He was safely arrested and his cellular phone was seized.
Subsequently, Robert Curtis Joseph Henderson, 18, of Camperdown, has been charged with: Sexual Interference; Invitation to Sexual Touching, Making Child Pornography, and Possession of Child Pornography.
He was scheduled to appear in Digby Provincial Court today, but Marshall who spoke with our newsroom around 3:30 p.m. did not have an update at that time.
