Sandra Mullen President of NSGEU confirmed this afternoon that a tentative deal has been reached between the SSRCE and the school support workers who have been striking for the past two weeks.
The details of the agreement are now being sent off to the union members who are expected to vote on the agreement on Wednesday.
Provided they vote in favour of the deal staff could be back to work as early as Thursday, November 10.
The move comes just three days after support workers striking in the Annapolis Valley reached a tentative deal of their own.
Both strikes were primarily fighting for pay parity, claiming that workers doing the same job in other parts of the province were receiving more money.
More details on the agreement are expected to be released on Wednesday morning.
